Our Story

Founded 17 years ago in Noosa, Thursday Girls Noosa began when a group of community-minded women came together to host a monthly Thursday fundraising lunch.

Today, Thursday Girls Noosa is a registered, not-for-profit charity led by an all-volunteer committee primarily made up of retired and semi-retired women.

We organise fundraising lunches and dinners at local restaurants, raising funds through ticket sales, raffles, and donations. Proceeds from these events help local school students access valuable extra curricular activities they might otherwise miss out on.

None of our committee members are paid, we are entirely volunteer-run, ensuring 100% of funds raised go to those who need them most.

Thursday Girls Noosa

Helping local students in need.

  • To provide financial support for school expenses and to fund extra curricular activities for struggling families with school age children residing in the greater Noosa district.

  • Our focus is assisting eligible students to attend extra curricular activities such as school camps, swimming lessons, and surf awareness programs.

    We also finance essential resources like uniforms, book packs,  sporting equipment, musical instruments, artistic and technical equipment, and computers (in special circumstances).

    Additionally, we assist with transportation costs and application fees for students participating in sporting, educational, or artistic activities.

  • We raise our money by hosting lunches and occasional evening events in local Noosa restaurants, selling raffles at these events.  

    We extend our sincere gratitude to all who join us for our fundraising lunches and events.

    The sale of raffle tickets serves as our primary fundraising source.

    We gratefully receive donations from local community groups and individuals.

    Donations from individuals are tax deductible.

    These contributions enable local students to thrive, ensuring greater access to essential opportunities and experiences.
